Rape and sexual assault can happen to anyone?

Rape is when someone puts their penis into (penetrates) the vagina, anus or mouth of another person without their consent.

Assault by penetration is when someone puts another part of their body – or an object – into another person’s vagina or anus without that person’s consent.

Sexual assault is when someone touches another person in a sexual way, without that person’s consent.

Can anyone come to Archway?

Anyone can come to Archway if you are 13 years or over and have been been raped or sexually assaulted in the last 7 days.

 Am I too old or too young to come to Archway?

We see anyone aged 13 years and over. If you are aged 13-15 or 16 t0 18 (Looked after and Accommodated  it is a legal requirement that the police are involved) There is no upper age limit.

 Do I have to tell the police?

You do not have to tell the police. We can collect your evidence and store it in case you need time to think about whether you want to go to the police.

 What happens if I decide to report to the police?

We can arrange for the police to come and talk to you at Archway or you can report to the police at your local police station or you can call 101 . You will be seen by a specially trained police officer.
